The special, featuring musical performances from a wide array of artists, seeks to raise much-needed funds for The American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, America's Second Harvest and similar organizations as they continue their relief efforts in the devastating wake of Hurricane Katrina. Anyone who has experienced depression or being controlled by their demons knows that only people who have been through those same battles are the only ones that can truly understand what they are going through. After his friend Chris Cornell died two months ago, Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington wrote a letter thanking him for inspiring him and hoping he would find peace in "the next life."
