The two bars that this door policy reminds me of most from the boom times are Cocoon and Renards where your night out would depend on the bouncer and what you were wearing. Dawson Street Pub's kitchen is open from noon until midnight everyday of the week. Food was really good, the cod starter in particular. One of my favourite Dublin streets. After an extensive refurbishment, the iconic Café En Seine has reopened it's doors on Dawson Street.

It's charm and character have been obliterated by seemingly endless light rail works that seem to have been dragging on for years and years.
