It expects that momentum to continue with 3% sequential growth in the first quarter of 2020. Beside that, ram/memory is usually not the thing that break down on graphic card, and for the same card, brand doesn't really have noticeable performance difference. Both companies had vram in the failed units. We've built our technological expertise for over 40 years and now we are sharing that expertise with you. I also use say ppl to avoid them, mainly cause the price difference compared Micron/Samsung chips is minimal. Micron inferior?Micron memory on the 1080 is GDDR5X while the Samsung memory used on the 1070 is GDDR5 so you cannot directly compare them.I've got a 1080 gaming x with micron memory. Learn, imagine, innovate, solve, and gain insight on the technology trends of today and tomorrow from thought leaders around the world. You can play with assumptions, or try scenarios, as-well-as ask questions to other users and experts.

This might include you though you may have invested money in these companies, or may have been working with one of them for years as an employee, or have consulted with them as an expert for a long time.

Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron (and other partners) are all active members of the Hybrid Memory Cube Consortium, but only Micron (and perhaps Altera) enjoys many hidden advantages from working directly and intimately with Intel. That total percentage exceeds 100% due to prior adjustments from inter-company eliminations.Micron controls smaller shares of the NAND and DRAM markets than Samsung, but it's a better "pure play" on memory chips because it isn't weighed down by other businesses.Samsung's IT & mobile revenue rose 17% annually last quarter, and the unit's operating profit jumped 32%. That would explain some of the complaints and post about bad cards I've seen though.I'd have to assume (till I can check it) that my Asus 2060 has Samsung memory then (if the above statement about rapid degradation and DOA is true). I have only heard of samsung producing memory very recently (along the rise of smartphone), while micron practically on most high end ram i own (either micron or hynix). Micron Insight brings you stories about how technology transforms information to enrich lives. Here's a link to their online memory finder, if … If it's that bad, then why hasn't the issue been resolved? Neither of those facts about the Samsungs should be a consideration for a Mac Pro, you wont be overclocking the RAM anyway. (I know you don't have the answer. Might be different case if you're aiming for extreme overclocking with say liquid cooling.Oh my you've been living under a rock. The FE boost clock on the 2060 is 1680MHz, but my card (which comes OC) is at a 1995MHz clock speed, and only gets to 68C max, so still has headroom. The vast majority of the RAM in the world is made by Samsung, SK Hynix (Hyundai Electronics), and Micron (Crucial). Also, I get the feeling that most of the manufacturers switched from Micron for GDDR6 cards (I don’t have any official source to confirm this statement tho).It wasn't micron. Its earnings are expected to drop 61% this year, but also rebound 112% in 2021 -- which is an impressive growth rate for a stock that trades at just nine times next year's earnings.Micron trades on the NASDAQ, but Samsung only officially trades in South Korea and the London Stock Exchange. Source: Micron quarterly reports. So if I have a faulty card, I'll find out soon I'd imagine.Still crazy though.

More of an open air question)For GDDR5 Cards I think the only thing is that Samsung memory overclocks better, but for the GDDR6 cards Micron had a faulty batch of memory which made a lot of cards either DOA or starting to behave weird after a certain period of time (like 2 weeks or a month) - basically rapid degradation. As someone who owned a 970 with Micron memory I had no issues but I had to RMA 2 RTX 2070s because one was DOA and the other just started rapidly degrading and was unusable on stock settings or downclocked. Now I have a 2070 with Samsung memory and I’m running that memory with a +1150 OC (which is insane) and it’s running really stable. Micron ranks fourth in the NAND market and third in the DRAM market, according to TrendForce's DRAMeXchange. It attributed that growth to strong sales of its Galaxy Note 10 phones, and it expects that momentum to continue in 2020 with the arrival of 5G networks. That growth is encouraging, but Samsung's mobile business also faced an easy comparison to the prior-year quarter, when its revenue and operating profits declined 10% and 33%, respectively. This unit will recover as DRAM and NAND prices rebound, but Samsung's other businesses could struggle as Micron reaps the richer benefits. At first glance, Micron's revenue growth and gross margins over the past year look terrible:YOY = Year-over-year. Now I have a 2070 with Samsung memory and I’m running that memory with a +1150 OC (which is insane) and it’s running really stable.
