If you like to get off the beaten path, come to Alamo Lake State Park. Maximum occupancy is a total of 10 individuals with a maximum of 6 adults per campsite. Alamo Lake is accessed from dirt road off either US 60 to the south or US 93 to the east. Alamo Lake State Park is located about 37 miles north of Wenden and offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities in the Bill Williams River Valley. Cacti dot the mountainous landscape that surround the lake. The park is located in western Arizona about 38 miles (61 km) north of Wenden. Amenities range from dry sites to full-hookups. The stark desert beauty is reflected off the water.

Owing to its remoteness and lack of paved access roads, the park is often considered one of the “best kept secrets” of the state park system.Alamo Lake is centered in the Park, a flood control and recreational reservoir that serves as the focal point of the Alamo Park. Camp Area F has 19 full hookups, Camp Area B has 27 with water and electric, the Ramada Area has 12 with electric and Camp Area C has 41 electric sites.

We'd love to hear about your adventure. The lake is known for its premier bass fishing and wildflowers are also plentiful – especially after spring rains. Driving here you wonder if you are going to end of in the middle of nowhere and you do. If you want to explore, I'll recommend trekking along the lake early in the morning when it's cool.
