I’ll update this post with a Turbo photo just as soon as I’m back from traveling, as again as I wasn’t even aware that it had a Turbo mode. I was pretty used to charging batteries once a week and frequently finding a dead headlight when I needed it. Having a red light is essential when camping with others and this one doesn’t disappoint. Die Nitecore NU25 Stirnlampe ist mit nur 28 Gramm sehr leicht und kann mit einigen nützlichen Extras aufwarten.
And you’ve missed a few features. They have a bright LED and take 3 AAA batteries each. For white (off, level 1, level 2, level 3), for red (off, level 1, level 2).
Let’s wrap this review up.Next is the buttons. But I digress. Two buttons.
Nitecore NU25 LED Rechargeable Headlamp. The Nitecore NU25 headlamp is the latest release in this popular range, which provides compact, lightweight and practical designs at an affordable price. Being able to lock the headlamp and keep it from accidentally turning on in your pack gives me peace of mind and is a nice touch. It’s slim, fits well and does what it’s designed to do very well. This is full 360 lumens and will only run for 30 seconds to avoid overheating. This is a great way to keep the headlamp from turning on while in your bag. It’s deceptively simple in that the adjustment slides effortlessly and then stays in place when on your head. The low profile is a welcome feature as is the lightweight. When I first put the NU25 on I noticed that the band was threaded differently than most headbands I’ve used.
There are two buttons. Nitecore reached out, and soon this diminutive three emitter, high CRI, lightweight headlamp … I had to reread that absolutely minuscule type sheet a couple of times to get it.It’s really uncommon to find products that work this well and this thoroughly thought through.
Repeat the process to unlock the buttons again. On the bottom is the Micro-USB port underneath the silicon tabOur family includes two dogs. Instead of turning on, it’ll just flash its status light once. It seems that most UL headlamps either suffer from low light output, short battery life, or a lack of red light mode (a must have IMO.
It’s also just very cool looking. First off, there is no need to take the holder off to insert the band. On medium brightness I can comfortably night hike and at 8 hours of run time I don’t have to worry about running out of battery.
1 = 3 lumens, 2 = 38 lumens, 3 = 190 lumens. He loves delving into a complex DIY project, testing out the latest and greatest backpacking gear, rock climbing, hiking, and much more.Since my very first steps along the Appalachian Trail, I’ve been on a quest for the ideal ultralight headlamp. The dual buttons make switching between modes super intuitive and eliminate the hassle of tapping, double tapping, and holding a singular button trying to figure out how to reach a specific mode. A 1 second hold on the white light engages Turbo mode. It’s an awesome headlight and for me the separate button, two level red lamp is revelation. Read on.Here’s a look at the different angle indexes within the 60º range of motion that the interface between the holder and the module provides. You may have noticed that the features bullets listed 4 levels for the white light. Best use example is probably camping and needing to find something in your gear without waking up your tent mates. I had just assumed the level 3 was 380 lumens. The red light is a really useful feature for visibility without the harshness of a white light. This high output, hand-free lighting tool can product an impressive 360 Lumens using the power of a CREE XP-G2 S3 LED. There is also a three led battery level check.
As for the battery, it just works.
